Good tips. I like your emphasis on fundamentals, as opposed to the contractor “trap” of skipping the basics and shooting for the moon. The most successful contractors I know do it through consistently executing fundamentals. Real simple stuff. Like relationships. That sounds pretty oxymoronish but in business it’s not. I had recently updated my website to a new format WordPress. Darren offered a package deal to review contractors websites. I myself am not much of a marketing person another set of eyes and perspective was in order so I took Darren up on his offer. I knew my website wasn’t quite ready as I still had pages to create and pictures to upload. Darren stepped on me toes a few times, but it’s just what I needed. The Video he made while critiquing my website has proved invaluable because it allowed me to get a birds eye view of how someone may navigate or have difficulty navigating my site. Tips on placement or elimination of text boxes and pictures also proved beneficial. Needless to say, I have been implementing his suggestions and have them in mind for my next website makeover. Overall, I consider the services Darren Slaughter has done for me and my company Freedom Builders & Remodelers money well spent.
