Planning is critical, it is one of the cornerstones to making it big or making ends meet, and today I want to talk about a company who I think has thought of everything.
If you’ve ever spent a second on a Disney property, you know what I mean when I say they think of everything…and have a plan for it.
From trash to when someone gets sick to lost kids to even more troublesome emergencies.
An example of good planning
A local mall in my area recently had an active shooter incident. While most of the other stores told their customers to run away, possibly into the sights an armed assailant, the employees and managers of Disney had a plan.
First, instead of telling everyone in the store to run away, the employees shepherded kids and customers into the back while the manager dropped the security gate cutting off access to the store from the mall.
Once inside the storeroom, the Disney staff secured the wall facing the front of the store with boxes full of bullet-absorbing stuffed animals.
They then gave out crayons, coloring books and dolls to the kids to keep them occupied (and quiet) while the police and SWAT team did their jobs.
That is having a plan
Since Disney theme parks are high on the list for terror attacks, their planning is concise, well-executed and well thought out.
It is hard to plan while you are actively in the middle of whatever is going on, which is why you need to plan for EVERYTHING BEFORE it happens.
