I was reading an article on Medium today and the writer’s headline was something like “I’m an influencer, and why that should matter,” and his title was ‘Viral Blogger.’
The article was 1,000 words about him being self-effacing and why he shouldn’t be considered an ‘influencer’ but his title was a dead give away. Instead of saying he was a viral blogger, blogger would have sufficed.
It’s like when you see people use ninja, star, expert, warrior, gladiator or some other adjective to describe their area of expertise.
I don’t know about you, but when you have to tell me you’re a ninja, you aren’t.
Save the bragadociousness for your completed projects, let others use those words to describe you, not you describing you.
