First, let\u2019s get to know each other.<\/h3>\n

• In most cases, we\u2019ll start by emailing<\/strong> back and forth a few times about your initial needs and expectations.<\/li>\n
• If initial impressions via email are good (i.e., we get the feeling that we could be an awesome fit for each other), we can jump on a free 30-minute consulting call<\/strong> or Zoom session to discuss more specifics, like the project scope\/objectives, your expectations and vision for the project, your intended audience or market, your budget, and delivery timeline. We can also do this via email if, for example, you\u2019re outside of the U.S. and it\u2019s hard to set up a time to connect.<\/li>\n
• If you\u2019re unsure exactly what writing or marketing you want, but you know you need it, you can pay for a one-time audit<\/strong> to figure out what\u2019s best for your brand. You\u2019ll get an hour on the phone with me to talk your audience, your goals, and your hang-ups. Afterward, I\u2019ll email you a document covering everything we talked about and the next steps you can take to achieve your goals (even if you don\u2019t end up hiring me to help you accomplish them).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  Then we\u2019ll deal with the official stuff.<\/h3>\n

  • I\u2019ll send you a\u00a0contract<\/strong>\u00a0to sign digitally or physically so we can get started. You can also choose to first get and accept a\u00a0proposal<\/strong>\u00a0from me outlining the discussed project, after which I\u2019ll send you an official contract to sign.<\/li>\n
  • You\u2019ll send me a\u00a050% up-front deposit<\/strong>\u00a0based on the fee we agreed to in our contract. This payment secures the earliest available time in my schedule (usually 2 weeks out), and means you can put your mind at ease from worrying about whether or not I\u2019ll actually start on your project (I will, trust me).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Now it\u2019s time for me to work.<\/h3>\n

This means that depending on the scope of the work, I might: conduct interviews with you or your team; ask for company style guides, materials, analytics, customer demographics, etc.; contact experts in related fields- look into your competitors\u2019 offerings and tactics<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      • Depending on our specific project, I\u2019ll provide you an\u00a0outline or summary<\/strong>\u00a0of what I\u2019ve found before I give my absolute attention to your first draft.<\/li>\n
      • Next, I\u2019ll prepare that\u00a0draft<\/strong>, making sure to fully address your customers\u2019 pain points, cover everything you\u2019ve asked me to include, and help make you look awesomer than your competitors. When I send the draft to you, I\u2019ll make sure to note on my end any concerns I think we need to clarify or address.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        • You\u2019ll go over the work I\u2019ve created for you and provide any\u00a0feedback, questions, or revision requests<\/strong>\u00a0you might have. Though don\u2019t worry about needing to take a red pen extensively to my draft; I\u2019d say 98% of my clients never ask for revisions, and the ones who do only ever need one more round submitted.<\/li>\n
        • You give a\u00a0big ol\u2019 thumbs-up<\/strong>\u00a0to the draft. Hooray! You pay me the remaining 50% of our contract and I submit the final draft of the project.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          • You take the finalized words and release them to the world.\u00a0People are in love, and so are you<\/strong>. You might start recommending me to your business colleagues, friends, and even family.<\/li>\n
          • Depending on the type of project we\u2019ve agreed to, I\u2019ll\u00a0stay in touch<\/strong>\u00a0with you to make sure the project is performing as desired. For example, if I\u2019ve created copy for your website, and we agreed to a check-in two months later to see if it\u2019s improved your conversion rates, I\u2019ll initiate that conversation and make sure everything is a-okay.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
