Contractor Marketing With Great Ad Copy Ideas

The Godfather of Modern Advertising

To expand on yesterday’s post about creating great ad copy, I thought of a few more things that you should take into consideration when developing your strategic marketing plan for your contracting business or home improvement company.

1. Don’t make promises your company can’t keep – While bold statements and bravado will draw more people to your product or service in the beginning, you won’t be able to count on these people for new business or for referrals if you can’t live up to your marketing.

2. Accentuate the positive – In other words, whatever the best features are of your organization is what your advertising should be developed around. To do this, figure out what makes your contracting company different from your competition, then focus on those points in your marketing.

3. Make your advertising memorable – Not with clapping monkeys or the guy from Crazy Eddie’s, but in a way that makes prospects think of your first when they are in the market for your product or service.

If you make your marketing clear and concise and if your business can truly help people and live up to your advertising, then you are well on your way to being an advertising genius!

    Hi Darren,

What are your thoughts on too much content in advertising? I see so many ads that are so loaded with copy that no one reads. Can a picture replace copy?

    Great topic for discussion.

    Cheers

      Hey Heidi!

Where have you been? Yes, as you will see by tonight’s site review, there can be too much copy. And yes, images can replace text.
