Marketing for Contractors: What’s in a Name?

This post goes out to all you guys out there that think everyone knows you and can’t wait until something breaks in order to call you into their homes to fix it – 83% of people have no idea who they are going to choose when they look for a service or product provider.

That’s almost 8.5 out of 10 people THAT ARE NOT LOOKING FOR YOU!

Now, maybe you can get by with the 1.5 people who know exactly who they are going to call, but like I always say, I have never met a contractor that was busy enough with the business they were getting strictly from their referrals.

Which means you have to advertise!

You have to be front and center when people are ready to buy. Ask yourself this, are people thinking of you when they have cash in hand and are looking for a contractor to spend it on? And more importantly, are you were people look when they are ready to buy? If not, you are losing mind share and marketing share at the same time. Congratulations, you are almost out of business! My point is, I don’t care what kind advertising you do, it has to be where people who are ready to buy go to find contractors like you.

I’m thinking of using sky-writing. People might not be looking for us in the sky, but seeing my logo floating around for 12 seconds or so would be amazing!
