Now’s The Time to Check In to Location-Based Services

If you have a retail spot and haven’t checked in on check in services like Facebook Places or Foursquare, now might be the time to get your early adopter hat on and check them out. According to Juniper Research, revenue from mobile location-based services could grow to as high as $14 billion by 2014.

Location-based applications should be appealing to home services retailers in that they let you drive customers to your place and at the same time give them both information on your products or services that is tied to a mobile coupon or discount.

With the combination of an active buyer (they are not coming into your store if they are not actively looking to buy), information about your business, and a financial incentive for coming in, you have the makings of a highly convertible consumer. So I ask you, how can you not want to get out in front of this new technology?
