    Darren,

How long should a good USP be?

Ours has gotten shorter over time from “for those that expect and respect quality painting” to “expect quality.”

Also, does it need to say what you do or how you do it? Or both?

Apple’s famous: Think Differently comes to mind. 😉

Or…to answer more distinctly, as few words as it takes to get the point across, ala “Contractor Websites That Work”.

Thanks Darren. It’s definitely challenging in a specific industry where EVERY painter says the same thing, regardless of whether they actually do it or not.

I am still looking for the painter that uses a tag line along the lines of “cheap and medicore painting at your service”. LOL.

Here’s how you do it Heidi. Take the rest of the week and weekend. This about what makes you guys so good. Think about the ONE KEY SENTENCE you would use to close your BEST CLIENT. That is your tagline. I can’t help you cause it is an organic thing, like social media. I would never run your campaign cause you gotta own it. Same thing with a tag. Hope that helps!
