If you think social media cannot benefit your business, you are wrong.
Your prospects join social media to interact with real people. Giving your social media presence a personal touch will make you appear more accessible and genuine. If no one knows your business, they are more likely to be receptive to YOU as a person. As humans, we like meeting other humans. We identify with their passions and past experiences. They look for what you have in common.
Effective social media marketing requires YOU to actually engage your audience and be social, which includes active listening as well as promoting your own content and offers. Actually converse with your followers—providing them with relevant, valuable answers, and kindly direct them to where they can learn more: your website. Keep things fun by being real with your friends!
Share valuable info
Only talking about yourself and sharing your own content is not social; there needs to be a give-and-take. Find stories on the web that are informative about what you do and share this information with your followers, this will help to educate them on what you do and how you can help them. Share some DIY ideas on how to do whatever it is you do. I know most of you think that if I show them how to do it they will do it themselves, right? Truth is……. They won’t do it themselves usually they will call you!
Be a resource to your customers
Being pushy or overly “salesy” on social media is a common mistake. I have seen several doing just that! Most post “buy from me” stuff with NO value to the post or message! Unfortunately, many contractors still see social networks merely as content distribution channels, not as places where authentic engagement is valued. Social media is supposed to be a friendly environment where people with common interests come together to share ideas. Don’t be afraid to share value with others!
